Tajik says...The Wakhi people are of Scytho-Bactrian origine and thus closely related with Tajiks. They share even the same culture and history. In no way they are related with Pashtuns. Pashtuns self are a mix horde of Indians (Indo-Aryans mixed with Dravidians), Arabs, Turks, Mongols, Huns, Jews and to a part with north-Africans, but kept dominantly Indo-Europeans whose gens do not differ from those of Middle East population. Plz see the newest studies. Pashtu is not, as it is claimed here falsefully (the writer doesn´t seem to be a linguist) as forerunner of Pashtu. Pashtuns as people and if we go to their historical home, lived 1000 miles away from the country of Bactria. Even their culture is not of Iranic origine (Pashtunwali) but mostly of the same cluster as we know from Turkic and Mongol nomads (Olaf Caroe wrote an excellent book on Pashtuns). Their names and -suffixs are those of Turko-Mongolian vocabularies, their tribal and national structure is based on Turko-Mongolian vocabularies, such as ''zai'' from Turkic and Mongol ''soy'' and ''X-xy'' and ''khel'' from Turkic ''Ogul''.
